We had an exciting adventure this morning, with a visit from Kay and Ian our resident artists. They asked us to look carefully at mini beasts and think our how they move and then act out the movement, then they transferred those movements to paper and had a go at making the movement with a pen. We also had a go with a blindfold to see how a worm might move and used pens on long sticks to see how a dragonfly or flying insect might move.    

 

This week in phonics we have been looking at the letter names. We learnt that some letters are uppercase and some are lower case. We looked at the uppercase letters and thought about their similarities and differences to the lowercase letters. We played matching games where we found a partner with the matching uppercase letter and guessed which letter would be pulled out of the bag. We also looked at the first letter of our names and talked about names always starting with an upper case letter. 

 Today we had an visit from Adam who works at Cowes library. He told the children all about the Summer reading challenge and how to join the library. The children will come home today with a bookmark to tell you all about.

 The children have really enjoyed performing on our stage after watching the performance from travelling tales. We have also been building lots of dens this week unsung bungee cords and pegs.
